Nathan Walsh

Nathan Walsh is the Co-Founder and CEO of Athena Home Loans. Prior to Athena, Nathan spent 10 years at National Australia Bank, where they served as the General Manager of Self Directed Wealth. In this role, Nathan was responsible for establishing and leading a team of 180 people, as well as for growing NAB's market share in both broking and margin lending.

Under Nathan's leadership, the Self Directed Wealth team achieved strong market share growth through the development of a scalable digital platform that acquired, engaged and serviced customers who wanted to manage their own wealth. The team was recognised for its innovation in product development with multiple awards, including Money Magazine's "Best-of-the-Best Award" in 2016, CANSTAR's 5-star rating and a 2016 "Innovation Excellence Award".

In addition to their work with Self Directed Wealth, Nathan also collaborated with other teams to bring together a holistic digital proposition across equity and debt markets. Nathan successfully migrated JBWere broking customers to the nabtrade platform, with over $20 billion in assets under management.

Nathan's experience in building and scaling digital platforms has been essential in Athena's success. Under their leadership, Athena has become one of the fastest-growing home loan providers in Australia, with over $1 billion in loans originated since inception.

Nathan Walsh has an MBA from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from UNSW.
