Alan Beckwith

Alan Beckwith is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in software development and configuration management. Currently serving as Director of Engineering at athenahealth since July 2018, Alan leads a CM/DevOps team embedded in 20 scrum teams focused on the next releases of athenaIDX and related products. Prior to athenahealth, Alan worked at GE Healthcare for over a decade, progressing from Software Manager to Configuration Management Architect, where responsibilities included overseeing a team of over 100 engineers and managing build processes. Alan began a career in technology at IDX Systems and has held various engineering and leadership roles across other organizations, including MediData Systems and the Robotics Research Center. Alan holds a BS in Electrophysics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MS in Machine Vision and Robotics from the University of Rhode Island.
