Rachel Hopkins has a diverse work experience, starting in 1993 as a Track and Field & Cross Country Coach at the University of Georgia Athletic Association. Rachel then became the Assistant Athletic Director and Head Cross Country Coach at UC Santa Cruz in 2001, where they also handled administrative tasks such as fundraising and managing team travel budgets. Rachel later started their own company called Sirius Graphics in 2001, where they worked with various accounts to create promotional and educational materials. In 2012, they founded Sirius Athletics, a track and field club that focused on empowering and equipping youth in the Athens area. Currently, Rachel is the Marketing Director at Athens-Clarke County Unified Government, where they develop and implements marketing strategies for Athens-Clarke County Transit.

Rachel Hopkins has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services from The University of Georgia, which they obtained in 1996. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Graphic Design from Auburn University in 1990. In addition to their degrees, Rachel also holds certifications as a Certified Community Transportation Manager from the Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA) and as a USATF Level I Coach from USATF.
