Giannis Georgizas currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Athens Development and Destination Management Agency since February 2024 and has held the position of General Manager at Sustainable City since July 2017. Previous experience includes working as a Project Manager at MOU S.A. from May 2002 to July 2017, focusing on team leadership, as well as serving as IT Manager at Eurisko SA, where responsibilities included content management and internet applications. Giannis began a career in software engineering with roles at INTRASOFT SA and Computer Software, contributing to software development and project work. Educational qualifications include a BSc in Physics from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, an MSc in Information Technology from Middlesex University, and an Executive MBA from Ikonomikon Panepistimion Athinon.

The Athens Development and Destination Management Agency (ADDMA) supports Athens’ ongoing evolution as a contemporary European capital, by designing, planning and implementing a wide range of projects throughout its metropolitan area. ADDMA plays a pivotal role in supporting the City of Athens to deliver its integrated development strategic plan and establish Athens as an attractive destination for its residents, visitors, investors and entrepreneurs. ADDMA serves as the city’s official Destination Management Organization and operates the This is Athens-Convention & Visitors Bureau (This is Athens-CVB) as the official tourism board of the City of Athens. It also manages This is Athens, the official City of Athens visitors' guide and creates integrated marketing campaigns promoting Athens as a destination. Moreover, ADDMA plans, implements and manages actions and projects that address social cohesion, promote urban sustainability, and boost competitiveness and entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation. Through its intermediate body, ADDMA has been successfully managing NSRF funds, in accordance with the objectives of the City of Athens.
