Panagiotis Merkouris

Panagiotis Merkouris is an experienced information security professional, currently serving as the Head of Information Security at Athens International Airport since May 2023. Previously, Panagiotis held the position of Head of Information Security & Privacy at PeopleCert from September 2020 to February 2023, where responsibilities included aligning the Group Information Security strategy with business objectives and integrating cybersecurity measures into corporate governance. Panagiotis's background includes over a decade at Intralot, where roles ranged from Head of Information Security & Privacy to Information Security Officer, with notable achievements in compliance and risk management across global jurisdictions. Additionally, Panagiotis has contributed to the ISACA Athens Chapter as a Board Member and has a solid academic foundation with an MBA in Strategic Management from Kingston University and a BSc in Business Administration from The American College of Greece.
