Joseph Chandler

Joseph Chandler, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Athens State University, specializing in behavioral neuroscience related to human performance in extreme environments, including the effects of sleep loss and hate crimes against LGBTQ individuals. As Vice President and Co-Founder of The Ava Grace Foundation, Joseph advances research on Uniparental Disomy of the 14th Chromosome. Previously, Joseph served as Director of Grants and Special Projects at Birmingham-Southern College and worked as a Research Consultant for Novelle, providing expertise in neuroscience and psychopharmacology. Joseph's experience includes research psychologist roles at the Naval Medical Research Units and a lead performance assessor position at Evans-Mahon, Inc. Joseph holds a PhD in Social Psychology, an MA in Cognitive Psychology, and a BS in Psychology from Birmingham-Southern College.
