Lee Vartanian

Lee Vartanian currently serves as Dean and Interim Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs at Athens State University since July 2020. Previously, Vartanian was a Professor of Education at Lander University from August 2006 to July 2020, where key roles included Chair of the Department of Teacher Education, Director of the Lander Teaching Fellows Program, and Chair of the Faculty Senate for the 2014-2015 academic year. Vartanian has led study abroad programs in Guatemala and South Korea/China and has experience teaching undergraduate and graduate education courses using an interactive approach. Academically, Vartanian holds a Ph.D. from Old Dominion University (2004), an M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education from Old Dominion University (2001), and two B.A. degrees in Social Work from Auburn University (1997).
