Prof. Dr. Phoebe Koundouri

Prof. Dr. Phoebe Koundouri is a distinguished academic and leader in the fields of economics and environmental sustainability, currently serving as Chair and Director at SDSN Global Climate Hub since June 2018. Koundouri has held several prestigious positions, including Academia Europaea Representative to S20 Task Force 2 on Bioeconomy of the G20 Heads of States since 2024, and is an Elected Fellow of both the European Academy of Sciences and Arts and Academia Europaea since 2023 and 2022, respectively. As Chair of the World Council of Environmental and Natural Resource Economists Associations and a Professor at DTU - Technical University of Denmark since June 2022, Koundouri is also a Professor at Athens University of Economics and Business since 2006, where Koundouri directs the Research Laboratory on Socio-Economic and Environmental Sustainability (ReSEES). Koundouri's academic credentials include a PhD and MPhil in Economics and Econometrics from the University of Cambridge, obtained between 1994 and 2000.
