JJ Wetherington has extensive experience in athletic training, currently serving as Vice President of the Athletic Trainers in the Physician Practice Society since February 2018 and as a Clinical Athletic Trainer at St. Luke's Health System since June 2017. Prior roles include being the Committee on Practice Advancement Coordinator for Great Lakes Athletic Training Association and serving various positions at Spectrum Health from August 2014 to June 2017, including Athletic Training Residency Program Director and Athletic Trainer Lead. JJ's earlier career highlights include serving as an Athletic Training Resident at St. Luke's Health System and as Associate Athletic Trainer at Flagler College, specializing in injury management and rehabilitation. Education credentials include a Master's of Science in Athletic Training from Indiana University Bloomington and a Bachelor's of Science in Athletic Training from Lenoir-Rhyne University.

Athletic Trainers in the Physician Practice Society aims to provide support to athletic trainers working in the physician practice through research, information, educational opportunities, updates and networking. Our mission is to sponsor annual conferences that will allow the opportunity for presentations and information to be shared, to provide opportunities for athletic trainers to meet and exchange the latest ideas regarding research and the future of athletic training in the physician practice setting, as well as to create evidence-based research and publications developed by the Society.
