Rakesh Thakrar

Rakesh Thakrar currently serves as the interim Group Chief Financial Officer at Athora and as a Non Executive Director at both JP Morgan Global Growth and Income plc and Bupa, where Rakesh chairs the audit committee. Prior to these roles, Rakesh was with Phoenix Group from August 2001 to November 2024, holding various positions including Group Chief Financial Officer, Deputy Group Finance Director, Group Financial Controller, and Head of MI, Planning and Group Treasury. Rakesh began the professional career in financial reporting at Canada Life from June 1998 to July 2001. Rakesh holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Warwick, obtained between 1994 and 1997, and attended Beauchamp College from 1990 to 1994.
