Maria Malvina Tsamouri, DVM, MSc, PhD has extensive work experience in the field of veterinary medicine. Maria Malvina began their career as an Intern at the Small Animal Veterinary Clinic of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2013. In 2014, they further gained experience as an Intern at KELAIDITIS & SIA AE. Maria then worked as a Veterinary Student Researcher at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki from 2012 to 2014. In 2015, they returned to the Small Animal Veterinary Hospital as an Intern, this time on a part-time basis.
Maria embarked on their Master's thesis research as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of Thessaly in 2016. Here, they worked in the Laboratory of Animal Physiology and Toxicology within the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology. Maria Malvina completed their Master's thesis in March 2017. In the same year, Maria worked as a Research Assistant at Københavns Universitet from April to September.
In 2017, Maria took on the role of a Veterinary Clinician at Blue Cross Small Animal Veterinary Hospital. After a year in this position, they became a PhD candidate at UC Davis Health in September 2018. Maria Malvina completed their PhD studies in June 2022.
Most recently, Maria joined Athos Therapeutics Inc. in August 2022 as a Senior Scientist, focusing on animal studies. With their extensive background and expertise in veterinary medicine and research, Maria has developed a diverse skill set that makes their valuable in their role.
Maria Malvina Tsamouri received their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Integrative Pathobiology (Molecular & Comparative Oncology), with a focus on Translational Research, from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Maria Malvina completed this degree from 2018 to 2022.
Prior to their PhD, Maria earned a Master of Science degree in Toxicology from the University of Thessaly, between 2015 and 2017.
Maria Malvina obtained their Doctor of Veterinary Medicine qualification from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) from 2010 to 2015.
In addition to their academic degrees, Maria also holds several certifications. Maria Malvina completed the 2nd Laboratory Animal Science European Union Functions (A, B, C, D) Course offered by the FEDERATION OF EUROPEAN LABORATORY ANIMAL SCIENCE ASSOCIATIONS in September 2016. Maria Malvina also obtained the DELF B2 certification from the Ministère chargé de l'Éducation nationale, France in July 2008. Furthermore, they hold a Certificate of Proficiency in English from both the University of Michigan and the University of Cambridge, which they obtained in August 2007.
Lastly, Maria has a certification in Classical Ballet, Grade VI, from the Royal Academy of Dance. The specific date of obtaining this certification is not provided.
