Benjamin McCarty

Benjamin McCarty has extensive experience in materials engineering and metallurgy, currently serving as Superintendent of Remelt Operations at ATI since December 2019, where responsibilities include overseeing open die press forging operations and leading continuous improvement initiatives. Prior to this role, Benjamin was a Senior Process Engineer at ATI and a Senior Metallurgist at CIRCOR International, Inc., focusing on product development and engineering for positive displacement pumps. Earlier experience includes a position as Plant Metallurgist at The Timken Company, managing heat treatment processes for carbon steel bearings, and as a Materials Associate assessing materials characterization. Benjamin began a career in research as a Research Assistant at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, which included synthesizing phosphors. Benjamin holds a Master’s Degree in Materials Engineering and a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, both from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
