James Wood

James Wood is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in the water and wastewater sectors. Currently serving as Chief Engineer and Associate Director at AtkinsRéalis, James oversees the Tideway West project as Project Manager. James has held a long-term position as Associate Director at Arup, where responsibilities included managing civil and structural design for the Tideway project from 2015 to 2023. Previous roles include Programme Manager at Earth Tech, where oversight of Yorkshire Water’s wastewater capital programme was essential, and Principal Engineer at Babcock Water Engineering, managing project and civil engineering teams. James began the engineering career as a Civil Engineer at Yorkshire Water and was a Graduate Engineer at Halcrow. Academic qualifications include a BEng (Hons) in Civil and Structural Engineering from the University of Bradford and a Certificate in Asset Management from the Institute of Asset Management.
