Loy Xingwen

Conservation Ecology Coordinator at Atlanta Botanical Garden

Loy Xingwen is Conservation Ecology Coordinator, Loy Xingwen designs and oversees field studies and experiments that inform the Garden’s conservation work. His expertise is in community ecology, in particular, how different plant species interact with one another in the wild. Loy is also interested in the relationships plants have with other organisms, such as bees and other pollinators. Loy helps to bring a more holistic, multi-species perspective to the Garden’s efforts in curbing ongoing biodiversity declines.

Loy holds a Diploma in Horticulture from Ngee Ann Polytechnic in Singapore, a Bachelor’s degree in Botany from the University of Queensland in Australia, and a Ph.D. in Population Biology, Ecology & Evolution from Emory University.
