Joel Browning

Joel Browning is the EVP & Chief Financial Officer at Atlanta Hawks. Joel was previously the Vice President, Team Marketing & Business Operations at the National Basketball Association (NBA) from July 2016 to September 2021. Before that, they were the Vice President, Business Operations & Strategy at the Detroit Pistons / Palace Sports & Entertainment from November 2012 to June 2016. Joel started their career as an Investment Banking Analyst - Media at J.P. Morgan from August 2000 to June 2002, where they supported Richard Bergman, former Pauley Pavilion Campaign of Champions Executive Committee Chairman, and UCLA Athletics in several aspects of UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion renovation project. Joel then became a Project Manager at Barrett Sports Group, LLC from June 2010 to October 2012 and Vice President at Bergman Group, Inc. from January 2005 to June 2010.

Joel Browning attended UCLA Anderson School of Management, where they earned their MBA in finance and entertainment. Prior to that, they attended Boston University's Questrom School of Business, where they earned their BSBA in finance.
