Digital Storytelling Research Coordinator at Atlanta History Center

Sophia Dodd has a diverse range of work experience. Sophia most recently worked at the Atlanta History Center as a Digital Storytelling Research Assistant. Prior to that, they were a Contracted Research Assistant at the T.R.R. Cobb House, where they focused on researching African American education in Athens, Georgia and developed an exhibit on the topic. Sophia also held a Summer Internship at the T.R.R. Cobb House, where they conducted primary research on the history of African American education. In addition, Sophia worked as a Digital Library Student Assistant at The University of Georgia, where they collated microfilm for digitization and transcribed primary source documents. Sophia also performed copyright checks on newspapers for digitization. Earlier in their career, Sophia interned at the Museum of History and Holocaust Education at Kennesaw State University, where they developed digital university guides and education content, as well as worked on curatorial projects. Sophia also gained experience as a Summer Camp Teaching Assistant at Crabapple Montessori School, where they supervised and educated children aged 2-10 during summer camp.

Sophia Dodd attended the University of Georgia's Franklin College of Arts and Sciences from 2018 to 2022. Sophia pursued a degree in History with a focus on Museology/Museum Studies and Nonprofit Management and Leadership.
