Richard Merritt is currently working as a Housing Project Staff Attorney at Atlanta Legal Aid Society, where Richard serves low-income clients by providing eviction defense in dispossessory proceedings. Prior to this role, Richard worked as a Writing Consultant at Iva’al Solutions, an Appellate Attorney at Georgia Public Defenders, and as a freelance writer and editor. Richard also served as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps, where Richard was the Commanding Officer of an Avenger Missile Battery. Richard obtained a Juris Doctor degree from USC Gould School of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business at Clemson University. Richard's academic journey started with a High School Diploma from Bob Jones Academy.
