Alisha Jones-Caldwell has a diverse work experience that spans over several industries. Alisha started their career in 2007 as a Special Education Teacher at Atlanta Public Schools and worked in this role until 2011. Alisha then transitioned to Liberty Mutual Insurance, where they served as an Auto Liability Claims Representative from 2012 to 2013. Alisha then pursued their passion for education and worked as a Language Arts and Social Studies Teacher at National Heritage Academies from 2013 to 2014. Alisha continued their teaching career at KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools as a Language Arts Teacher in 2014. Alisha gained further teaching experience as a Paralegal at Morgan & Morgan, P.A. from 2015 to 2018. Alisha'smost recent position is as a Special Education Teacher and Grade Level Department Chair at Fulton County Schools, where they worked from 2018 to 2019. Alisha is currently working as a Special Education Lead Teacher (SELT) at Atlanta Public Schools, a position they have held since 2019.
Alisha Jones-Caldwell completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Sociology with a Pre-Law concentration at Spelman College in 2007. Alisha then pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Junior High/Intermediate/Middle School Education and Teaching at Mercer University, which they completed in 2012. Alisha also obtained certification in Educational Leadership from Georgia State University in 2021. In 2013, they received the Clear Renewable Georgia Professional Educator Certificate from the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
