Kyra M. Caldwell Templeton, Ph.D. (Dr. CT) has a diverse work experience spanning several positions and organizations. Dr. CT currently serves as the Program Director of Student Engagement and Co-Advisor of the APS Student Advisory Council at Atlanta Public Schools since 2023.
Dr. CT's previous roles include serving as the Co-Founder of Radiant Educational Services, LLC since 2017, a Lead Facilitator at Teaching Lab since 2020, and an ELA Instructional Coach at Marietta City Schools from 2018 to 2023. Dr. CT also worked as a Research Assistant at Mercer University from 2018 to 2019, and as a Part-Time English Teacher at Cobb County School District from 2017 to 2018.
Earlier in her career, Dr. CT held the position of Director of Operations at KIPP Metro Atlanta from 2011 to 2017 and worked as a Teacher at Cobb County Schools from 2007 to 2011. Overall, Dr. CT has a strong background in education, leadership development, and creating inclusive spaces.
Dr. CT earned her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English Language and Literature/Letters from Spelman College in 2003. She then went on to complete her Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Post Secondary Education at Capella University from 2004 to 2007. In 2009, she obtained her Master of Arts (M.A.) in English/Language Arts Teacher Education from Georgia State University. Dr. CT completed her highest level of education, a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Curriculum and Instruction, at Mercer University from 2013 to 2017.
