Patrick McMurray is a prominent figure in the oyster and hospitality industry, currently serving as Co-Founder of Oyster Master Guild since August 2023. As World Champion and Oyster Sommelier at ShuckerPaddy OysterCo since July 2022, Patrick possesses extensive knowledge of oysters, collaborating with restaurant teams to enhance OysterBar programs and provide educational dining experiences. With over two decades of experience as a Hospitality Consultant, Patrick has designed and managed numerous restaurant concepts through P.A. McMurray Hospitality. Additionally, Patrick holds multiple roles as Brand Ambassador for Atlantic Aqua Farms Ltd., Culinary & Hospitality Educator at Centennial College, and Professional Speaker, addressing a variety of industry topics. An inventor of the "PistoGrip" oyster knives for SWISSMAR LTD and author of a widely available oyster book, Patrick continues to impact the culinary landscape through various initiatives and educational efforts. Patrick's background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Toronto.
