Melanie Mackleer

Melanie Mackleer possesses a diverse background in education and prevention services. Currently serving as a Prevention Specialist at Atlantic Prevention Resources, Inc. since January 2019, Melanie specializes in teaching self-management, social, and communication skills to students, as well as educating families on coping mechanisms to enhance relationships and prevent neglect. Previous experience includes working as a Para Professional with Hamilton Township Public Schools from March 2009 to October 2011 and serving as a server at Tomatoes Restaurant. Melanie holds a degree in Elementary Education from Stockton University.

APR is a community-based, non-profit agency dedicated to the prevention of the harm caused by substance use and violence (gun violence, school violence and bullying). APR offers substance use prevention programs for youth and adults, including: tobacco prevention programs in 7 Counties in Southern NJ; an Atlantic County underage drinking prevention coalition and a local coalition to prevent drug use in youth and young adults; the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program; the Strengthening Families Program (for military families and all families); Life Skills Training; a wellness program for senior adults; and many other programs. APR also operates an outpatient addiction treatment program for adults.
