Duane Smith

Chief Enterprise Services Officer & Chief of Staff at Atlantic Union Bank

Duane Smith serves as Chief of Staff to the President and the bank’s Operating Group, as well as leads Enterprise Operations. In that capacity, his team and he are responsible for managing Atlantic Union Bank's brand and reputation through marketing, corporate communications, the customer experience and physical presence for Teammates and customers. They enable each of the business units they serve by creating a methodical and well-managed system in which all can operate effectively and best serve customers.

He joined Atlantic Union Bank in November 2016 after three years as the Head of Brand Marketing at Vonage preceded by 16 years in various leadership roles at Capital One. He has a B.S. in Mass Communications from Virginia Commonwealth University as well as executive education from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management and University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
