Chiara Gasteiger has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. In 2016, they completed a fixed internship at Women's Health Action. In 2018, they worked as a Clerical Administrator at Waitemata District Health Board, where they acted as a scheduling clerk and provided support to patients and healthcare providers. Also in 2018, they took on the role of a Brand Ambassador at Interlike.
In 2019, Chiara began their doctoral studies at The University of Auckland, focusing on improving the transition to biosimilars and optimizing patient-practitioner communication. Chiara completed their doctoral thesis in 2022, which included the publication of seven papers in international peer-reviewed journals.
From 2019 to 2022, Chiara worked as a Research Officer at Auckland University of Technology, supporting research in the School of Public Health and Psychosocial Studies and Clinical Sciences. Their responsibilities included recruiting participants, data analysis, literature review, and manuscript drafting. During this time, they also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for a short period.
In 2022, Chiara started a position at Atlantis Health as a Health Psychology/Behavioral Science Specialist, utilizing their expertise in psychology to support the organization's initiatives.
Also in 2022, Chiara joined the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences at the University of Auckland as a Research Fellow and Clinical Research Assistant. In this role, they are involved in conducting and assisting with studies related to the Bone and Joint Research Group. Their tasks include managing data, processing blood samples, and conducting DEXA scans.
Throughout their work experience, Chiara has consistently shown a commitment to research, teaching, and patient care, demonstrating their multidisciplinary skills and dedication to improving healthcare outcomes.
Chiara Gasteiger began their education journey in 2008 at Garin College, where they earned NCEA Level 1-3 and University Entrance. Chiara then proceeded to the University of Auckland, where they obtained two bachelor's degrees: a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Psychology and Film, Television, and Media Studies, and a Bachelor of Health Science, majoring in Population Health.
After completing their undergraduate studies, Chiara pursued higher education at the University of Auckland. Chiara earned a Masters (Hons) degree in Health/Medical Psychology from 2017 to 2019. Chiara continued their studies at the same institution and is currently completing their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Health/Medical Psychology, which they started in 2019 and is scheduled to finish in 2022.
In addition to their formal degrees, Chiara Gasteiger has acquired several certifications. In July 2016, they completed the CALD Online Training for Health Professionals: Development Programme for competency of culturally & linguistically diverse individuals, offered by the Ministry of Health New Zealand and Waitemata DHB (eCALD), License CALD 1. In April 2020, they obtained the COVID-19: Tackling the Novel Coronavirus certification from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, U. of London.
Furthermore, Chiara has attained additional certifications such as Good Clinical Practice (GCP) version 5 from the NIDA Clinical Trials Network, Comprehensive First Aid from the New Zealand Red Cross, and IV Cannulation and Phlebotomy from the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences - University of Auckland. These certifications were obtained in July 2022, December 2022, and September 2022, respectively.
