Matthew Sturgis

Matthew Sturgis serves as the Sr. Director of Flying and System Chief Pilot at Atlas Air since December 2014, with responsibilities that include acting as the Regional Chief Pilot and piloting B747-400/8 and B767/B757 aircraft. As the Principal Owner of BTA Consulting Group since February 2012, Sturgis provides consulting services to both start-up and established airlines, focusing on crew resource management, crew rostering software, and staffing requirements. Previously, Sturgis was a Captain and Instructor Pilot at ExpressJet Airlines from May 2006 to December 2014, where duties included managing the trip and line construction process for pilots and flight attendants as Sr. Manager of Crew Resources. Sturgis is currently pursuing an MBA at Rice Business - Jones Graduate School of Business and has furthered education at Harvard Business School Online.
