Daniel Chaves has a diverse work experience in the renewable energy industry. Daniel is currently working as a Project Development Director at Atlas Renewable Energy since March 2023. Before that, they worked at Canadian Solar as a BD and Country Manager for Colombia until March 2023, and previously as a Project Development Manager from October 2021 to October 2022. Prior to Canadian Solar, Daniel was a Senior Project Manager in Business Development support at Trina Solar from January 2019 to October 2021. Daniel gained experience in project management at Enertis, where they worked as a Project Manager for Colombia, Central America, and the Caribbean from October 2017 to January 2019. Before that, they were a Project Engineer in the Solar Design Unit at Enel Green Power Mexico & Central America from June 2015 to October 2017.
Earlier in their career, Daniel worked as a Project Engineer/Electric Design Engineer at SCS Ingegneria Srl from June 2014 to June 2015, and as a Project Manager at Skema SpA from June 2013 to June 2014. Daniel also gained research experience as an Assistant Research at Universidad Nacional de Colombia from January 2012 to September 2012. At the beginning of their career, Daniel worked at Schneider Electric as a Launch Manager and Business Development Assistant from January 2011 to December 2011.
Daniel Chaves has a diverse education history. Daniel pursued a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Universidad Nacional de Colombia, which they completed from 2007 to 2012. In 2010 and 2011, they attended IUT2 Grenoble, where they obtained a Diplôme Universitaire Technique en Techniques de Commercialisation. Later, in 2012, Daniel pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc) in Management Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, which they completed in 2014. Daniel furthered their education by completing a Diplomado en Project Finance from Universidad de Los Andes in 2020. Currently, they are working towards a Maestría en Regulación Energética from Universidad Externado de Colombia, which is expected to be completed in 2022.
