Richard Davis, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, CLMS

Richard Davis, MBA, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, CLMS has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Richard began their career at Hillrom, where they held multiple director and manager positions with responsibilities including employee relations, service center management, and P&L management. Richard then joined Logix, Inc as a Technical Recruiter before transitioning to Paragon Ventures LLC as a Vice President, focusing on healthcare mergers and strategic acquisitions.

In 1992, Richard founded McClain Group, LLC, where they served as the Chief Encourager and Human Resource/Talent Management Guru. Richard developed strategic talent management programs to help companies find, hire, develop, and retain the best employees. Richard's company owned the national trademark on PIPability- Peak Individual Performance.

In 2007, Richard was hired as the Vice President of Human Resources at Barnes Healthcare Services, where they managed all HR functions for a $70mm home medical equipment and rehab provider. Richard developed policies and procedures, conducted management training, and contributed to corporate strategic planning.

In their role as Chief People Officer at SIB Fixed Cost Reduction in 2018, Richard oversaw corporate administration, IT, human resources, and training. Richard was responsible for onboarding, talent management, and ongoing management training.

Richard's most recent position was as the Director of Human Resources at Atlas Technologies, Inc., where they were a member of the executive leadership team. Richard had full accountability for all HR and payroll functions in this Veteran Owned Small Business specializing in military IT solutions for the United States Navy and Coast Guard.

Throughout their career, Richard has demonstrated a strong expertise in HR and talent management, strategic planning, and leadership development.

Richard Davis, MBA, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, CLMS, completed their education at The Citadel. Richard obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from The Citadel from 2020 to 2023. Prior to that, from 1979 to 1983, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the same institution. In addition to their educational background, Richard Davis holds several certifications, including Certified Leave Management Specialist (obtained in July 2020) from the Disability Management Employer Coalition (DMEC), Crucial Conversations Certified Instructor (obtained in June 2020), The Power of Habit Certified Instructor (obtained in April 2020), Crucial Accountability Certified Instructor (obtained in November 2019), Getting Things Done Certified Instructor (obtained in August 2018), and PXT Select Certified Professional (obtained in December 2017) from VitalSmarts. Richard also holds the certifications of SHRM-SCP (obtained in January 2014) from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and SPHR (obtained in February 2004) from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI.
