Mike Forkel

Mike Forkel joined Atlas in 2017 and serves as senior controller.

Prior to joining Atlas, Mike was the controller at Advanced Technology Ventures (ATV) as well as Lightstone Ventures, an early stage life sciences venture capital firm founded in 2012 by the partners from Advanced Technology Ventures and Morgenthaler Ventures. In these roles, Mike was responsible for all facets of the financial reporting and operations of both firms as well as providing strategic tax planning and compliance expertise.

Prior to joining ATV and Lightstone in 2015, Mike was a tax manager at Ernst & Young in the Asset Management Group within EY’s Financial Services Office. While at EY, Mike was responsible for overseeing tax compliance and advisory work for large private equity, venture capital, hedge, and fund of funds clients.

Mike earned a B.A. in Economics and Accounting from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA and an M.B.A. in Finance from Boston College’s Carroll School of Management. He is a CPA in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Outside of work, Mike enjoys traveling and exploring different New England towns with his wife, two sons, and happy-go-lucky chocolate lab.
