Daniel Newman

Daniel Newman is an accomplished data scientist with significant expertise in generative AI and machine learning. Since May 2025, Daniel has been serving as a Senior Data Scientist at Atlassian, focusing on JSM AI. Prior to this role, Daniel worked at SEEK from February 2017 to May 2025, where responsibilities included developing generative AI products, leading a team of data scientists, and operationalizing machine learning models. Daniel's experience spans various roles at SEEK, from developing pricing models to improving ad quality and customer conversion. Daniel's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Cognitive Neuroscience from Monash University, where a dissertation received commendation for excellence, along with a Bachelor of Psychological Science from The University of Queensland, complemented by exchange studies at the National University of Singapore.
