Daniel Tao is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in software development and team management. Currently serving as the Head of Engineering for Confluence Cloud at Atlassian, Daniel oversees critical areas such as monetization, security, and performance. Daniel has also held leadership roles for DevOps products, including Jira Software and Bitbucket Cloud, managing globally distributed teams. Prior to Atlassian, Daniel contributed to software engineering at Google and Cardpool, and provided consulting services at ThoughtWorks. In addition to professional roles, Daniel volunteers as an instructor at Code2College, teaching computer science skills to underrepresented high school students. Daniel holds a Master of Science in Software Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Duke University.
