Varun Srivastava

Varun Srivastava is an experienced engineering leader with a strong background in search technologies and artificial intelligence. Currently serving as the Engineering Leader for Search and AI at Atlassian since November 2024, Varun oversees the company's search indexing and retrieval platform for enterprise customers. Prior to this role, Varun was the Head of Engineering at MarkovML, focusing on developing ML platforms for various industries, including tech and fintech. Varun has also held significant positions at CommerceIQ as VP of Engineering, leading initiatives to enhance brand sales through data-driven strategies, and at Uber as Head of the Uber for Business Platform, where responsibilities included enterprise onboarding and risk management. Additionally, Varun spent nearly a decade at Walmart Labs, contributing to search and discovery experiences as Director of Engineering. Varun holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad.
