Rui Gomes has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Rui started their career as a System Administrator at Axtion Lan Games in 2007 and then moved on to become the Chief Technology Officer at Dominos Pizza Enterprises in Iceland from 2008 to 2009. In 2010, they worked as a Developer and System Administrator at IMC Island, where they developed and integrated various core network formations. From 2010 to 2013, they served as the IT Manager at Framestore CFC. In 2013, Rui took on the role of Chief Technology Officer at CAOZ Ltd., where they provided advice, designed VFX-oriented technologies, and migrated systems to a datacenter. During the same period, they also became the Chief Technology Officer at RVX, where they migrated and redesigned the studio's infrastructure. In 2017, they worked as an Infrastructure Architect at NOVOMATIC Lottery Solutions until 2019. Currently, Rui Gomes holds the position of the Director of HPC Operations at atNorth, where they are responsible for customer-facing support, design, team building, and addressing different disciplines in HPC operations, including AI, DL, and ML workloads.
Rui Gomes completed an MSc in Management Information Systems from The University of Salford in 2020. Rui also holds additional certifications as a Huawei Core Network Engineer and RHCE from Huawei and Red Hat, respectively.
