Andrew Marshall is the CFO at Atom bank. Andrew has over 25 years of experience in the financial industry, including extensive experience in financial reporting and disclosure. 

Marshall began their career at [Barclays](/org/barclays) in 2011 as the Group Financial Reporting Director. In this role, they were responsible for the delivery and quality of quarterly results, external reporting, and the Annual Report for the Group. Andrew also oversaw the Group consolidation process and reporting systems (Hyperion and SAP), and was responsible for key accounting and disclosure matters to the Board Audit Committee. In addition, Marshall chaired the Legal and Technical Committee with responsibility for ensuring compliance with regulatory reporting requirements. 

In 2016, Marshall left [Barclays](/org/barclays) to join Atom bank as the Director of Corporate Finance. In this role, they are responsible for Atom bank's financial strategy, planning, and execution. Andrew also oversees the bank's capital markets activities, including equity and debt issuance, M&A, and investor relations.

Cheryl Millington is a Non-Executive Director at Atom bank and was previously with AXA UK, [Durham University](/org/durham-university), Hays, and [Intu](/org/intu) Properties Plc. [Intu](/org/intu) was a developer, owner and manager of prime regional shopping centres, 17 in the UK (including Trafford Centre and Lakeside) and 3 in Spain. The group also had an important growing digital and online presence. They were a constituent of the FTSE250 with a market cap of £1.44bn and revenue of £616m. Cheryl was a member of the Remuneration, Audit and Nomination & Review committees. Atom bank is a digital bank founded in 2015 and based in the North East of England. Patricia Jackson is the Chair of the Risk Committee at [Atom bank](/org/atom-bank). Patricia has previously held positions at [Lloyd's](/org/lloyds), the [BGL Group](/org/bgl-group-limited), CHAPS Clearing Company Ltd, and EY.

Patricia Jackson has over 15 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry. Patricia started their career at EY in 2004, where they quickly rose to become Partner and Head of Banking Risk. In this role, they were responsible for leading the practice and developing innovative solutions for clients.

In 2013, Jackson left EY to join Atom Bank as Head of broad Financial Regulation practice EMEIA. In this role, they were responsible for advising banks, insurers, and asset managers on how to comply with regulations and remain profitable. Patricia also led product development for new solutions that would enable industry to meet challenges such as embedding risk appetite and making stress testing a flexible management tool.

Most recently, Jackson has been working at [Lloyd's](/org/lloyds) as the Chair of the Risk Committee. In this role, they are responsible for leading the risk management function and ensuring that [Lloyd's](/org/lloyds) meets all regulatory requirements.

Andy Sturrock is the current Chief Technology Officer at Atom bank. Andy has previously worked as the Head of Customer and Products Digital at bp from December 2010 to April 2022. In this role, they were responsible for the strategy, design and build of existing and new digital products, creating new customer touch points and revenue streams.

Andy led the Digital team of software engineers, architects, CX/UX designers and analysts responsible for products such as the BPMe mobile app (which doubled its user count to over 6m across 6 markets globally during COVID19) and the BP ChargeMaster EV charging app.

Under their leadership, the cycle time of new features was driven down from months to weeks using Agile and DevOps principles. Andy received feedback from senior stakeholders such as "wow - I've never seen IT done like this before!".

Chris Storey is the Commercial Director at Atom bank. Chris has over 20 years of experience in the banking industry, including 10 years at Northern Rock where they were responsible for the direction, policy, and strategy of the retail savings business across the UK, Ireland, and Offshore.

During their time at Northern Rock, Chris successfully grew the savings balance and integrated customer insight and behavioural analysis into product and marketing strategy to drive volume, margin improvement, liquidity, and stability of a £20bn savings book. Chris also steered the savings business through unprecedented market change and upheaval during the retail run on the bank.

In 2008-2009, Chris set e-commerce B2B and B2C strategy, ensuring web platform and online promotion aligned with lending, savings, and cross sales objectives. Chris was also responsible for channel development, customer experience and journey, online acquisition including PPC, SEO and advocacy, web analytics, multivariate site testing, and process efficiencies.

From October 2008 to March 2010, Chris served as a Non-executive Director of Northern Rock (Guernsey), providing strategic and commercial direction to the Offshore savings subsidiary. Chris was responsible for ensuring oversight and governance of operations in line with Board agreed policies and regulatory requirements.

Marcus Mitchell is the current Director of Strategy at Atom bank. Prior to this, they held various finance-related positions at [HSBC](/org/hsbc), first direct, and other companies. Marcus began their career as an accountant at Komori UK Ltd in 1996, before moving to Poundstretcher Ltd. as a financial accountant in 1990. In 1998, they joined First Direct in a commercial finance role. Marcus remained there until 2009, when they joined [HSBC](/org/hsbc). At [HSBC](/org/hsbc), they served as the Head of Finance at first direct and Regional Head of Cost Management for the Europe region. Marcus left [HSBC](/org/hsbc) in 2014 to join Atom bank.

Brian Seal is the current Chief Credit Officer at Atom bank. Brian has over 20 years of experience working in the financial sector, with a focus on credit and risk management. Brian began their career at Bradford & Bingley in December 2006 as Head of Credit Risk. In January 2010, they joined The Home & Savings Bank as Head of Credit/Chief Credit Officer. Brian was responsible for establishing the mortgage/credit infrastructure and enterprise risk management framework for the start-up retail bank in order to obtain FSA authorization and launch the new bank. Brian also scoped system requirements for mortgage origination, credit decisioning, fraud/financial crime, mortgage administration, and credit management. In addition, Brian developed all credit management policies, procedures, and process maps, including all matters pertaining to valuation and conveyancing. Brian defined risk management practices, procedures, and controls under the 3 lines of defense model and shaped the risk register with key controls to mitigate business risks. Brian also worked closely with the Finance team on the production of ICAAP, especially in regards to the definition and calculation of expected losses under various stress scenarios. Brian had extensive interaction with FSA on mortgage/credit related matters and worked with the Executive team to support investor due diligence. Brian reported directly to the CEO.

Rachael Mclauchlan is the current Chief Data Officer at [Atom bank](/org/atom-bank). Prior to this, they worked as a Research and Teaching Support Administrator at the [University of Glasgow](/org/university-of-glasgow) from September 2008 to August 2021. Helen Wilson is the current Chief Operating Officer at Atom bank. Prior to their current role, Wilson served as the head of delivery for specialist complaint handling at a top 4 UK bank from February 2014 to July 2014. From August 2012 to July 2013, they were the head of delivery for PPI operations on an interim/consultancy basis. Wilson began their career in 2006 as an operational strategist at Northern Rock before moving on to their previous roles.
