Juan C. Lopez de la Torre has a diverse work experience in the animation industry. Juan C. started as an Art Assistant/Internship at Leo Burnett Mexico in 2005. From there, they worked at Alejandro Magallanes as an Animator in 2008. In 2010, they co-founded FrutaBomba and served as the Animation Director until 2014. Juan C. then joined bRINCA Taller de Animacion as an Episodic Director and Character Animator for a short period in 2012. In 2011, they worked at Cru de Ladies as an Animation Director, where they were involved in storyboarding, puppeteering, and art and animation direction. From 2013 to 2015, they worked at Bardel Entertainment as a Harmony Build/Rigging Supervisor and a 2D FX Animator. Juan C. then moved to DHX Media as an Animation/Design Generalist from 2015 to 2018. During their time there, they also served as a Senior Harmony Animation Generalist from 2015 to 2017. Currently, Juan works at Atomic Cartoons. Juan C. started as an Animation Supervisor from 2018 to 2020 and is currently the 2D R&D Technical Director. Additionally, they have been working as an Animation Instructor at Capilano University since 2016, where they teach 2D Animation and Visual Development, as well as explores emerging technologies in the animation industry.

Juan C. Lopez de la Torre has a Diploma in Digital Character Animation from Vancouver Film School in 2013. In 2017, they participated in the Pictoplasma Academy Masterclass for Character Design. In 2010, they attended Gobelins L'École de l'Image for a Summer School program in Animation. Prior to that, they obtained a Diploma in Classical Animation from Vancouver Film School in 2009. Finally, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Film Production from Centro de diseño cine y tv. between 2004 and 2008.
