Mechanical Engineer IV at Atomic Machines

Lexian Guo has worked in a variety of engineering roles since 2010. In 2010, they worked as an Intern at POLARONYX, INC., where they worked with professional Engineers on the development and production of laser manufacturing machines, set up lab equipment, prepared test samples and performed laser testing, and wrote lab reports and organized customer orders. In 2016, they worked as a Chassis Engineer at UC Berkeley Formula Racing (Formula SAE), where they designed race car chassis to meet technical goals, performed structural analyses to eliminate material failures and optimize the performance of the vehicle, and communicated with other sub-teams for a full vehicle design. Lexian also worked as a Vehicle Control Engineer at UC Berkeley Hyperloop Team, and as a Design Engineer at Berkeley Flow Laboratory, where they designed a six axes positioning station on a tight budget, selected and obtained quotes for linear/rotational stages from vendors to build the station, and conducted business negotiation to obtain price breaks and educational discounts. Finally, since 2017, they have been working as a Senior Mechanical Engineer and Mechanical Engineer at Nikon Research Corporation of America, where they work on a team of 2-5 engineers on several Robotics/Mechatronics Control Projects from brainstorming and design, through testing in the lab, and performs prototype design and simulation within CATIA, Thermal Fluid Simulation (COMSOL), Multi-Physics Simulations (COMSOL), Electromagnetic simulations and self-programmed physics in Matlab, as well as electromagnetic devices and electrical machinery testing and data processing/analysis. In 2022, they will begin working as a Mechanical Engineer II at Atomic Machines.

Lexian Guo obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley College of Engineering in 2014-2016. Lexian then went on to earn a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same school in 2016-2017. Additionally, in April 2016, they were certified as a National Instrument Labview Certified Associate Developer by National Instruments.
