Yaroslav Urzhumov

Yaroslav Urzhumov is a highly experienced professional in the field of metamaterials and micro- and nano-device manufacturing. Currently serving as the Modeling Principal Lead at Atomic Machines since February 2024, Yaroslav specializes in the Devices division. Prior to this role, Yaroslav was a Program Manager at Metamaterial Inc., focusing on the development and commercialization of multifunctional and holographic metamaterials. Yaroslav's extensive background includes serving as a Principal Scientist at Intellectual Ventures, where responsibilities included startup incubation and disruptive technology development, and as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Duke University, where engagement involved research and graduate advising. Yaroslav also held positions as an Applications Engineer at COMSOL, Inc., and as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Texas at Austin and Illinois Institute of Technology. Yaroslav holds a PhD in Physics from The University of Texas at Austin and the Illinois Institute of Technology.
