Benjamin Rix Brooks M.D.

Benjamin Rix Brooks MD has extensive experience in neurology, currently serving as the Medical Director at the Carolinas Neuromuscular/ALS - MDA Care Center and ALSA Certified ALS Treatment Center at Atrium Health Neurosciences Institute since April 2018. In addition to this role, Benjamin Rix Brooks holds positions as a Professor and Adjunct Professor of Neurology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine since January 2008. Prior to these appointments, Benjamin Rix Brooks worked at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as the Chief of Neurology Service and as an Attending Neurologist for over 25 years. Educational qualifications include an MD magna cum laude from Harvard Medical School and an AB cum laude in Philosophy / Biochemical Sciences from Harvard University.
