Esita Patel

Esita Patel is an accomplished Advanced Practice Data Scientist at Atrium Health since July 2022 and serves as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Carolina Health Workforce Research Center, focusing on the supply and demand of nurses in North Carolina. Previously, Esita worked at Mercy Medical Center as a Labor and Delivery Nurse and held roles as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where opioid policy evaluation was a primary focus. Additional experiences include volunteering as a Registered Nurse at Shepherd's Clinic and serving as an AHRQ NRSA Pre-Doctoral Fellow in Health Services Research at the Cecil G. Sheps Center. Esita’s educational background includes a PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where Esita also earned a BS in Registered Nursing and a BS in Biology.
