Alastair Haydock

Alastair Haydock is an experienced marketing professional who has held various roles throughout their career. Alastair began their career as a Product, Sales, and Marketing Manager at UPO Limited, where they played a key role in growing the company from a two-person consultancy to an eight-person sales and marketing business. Alastair then worked as a Product Manager at HRV, where they were involved in brand refresh and market analysis.

Haydock later served as the Marketing Manager for Mount Ruapehu Ski Fields at Ruapehu Alpine Lifts (RAL Ltd), where they successfully implemented marketing and communication strategies that resulted in increased season pass sales and summer sales.

Alastair then worked as a Marketing Consultant at Lakeman Brewery before joining Auckland Council as a Senior Marketing Specialist for the Matariki Festival. In this role, they oversaw the planning and execution of the festival, which attracted a significant number of attendees.

Haydock returned to Auckland Council as the Elections Programme Manager, where they led the marketing and communications function for two Auckland local elections campaigns and a by-election. Alastair successfully managed the campaigns, resulting in an increase in voter turnout.

After their time at Auckland Council, Haydock joined Netsafe New Zealand as the Director of Outreach. In this role, they managed the Outreach teams, developed the Netsafe strategy, and implemented various marketing and communication initiatives.

Alastair'smost recent position was as the Head of Marketing at Auckland Council, in which they were responsible for overseeing the marketing activities of the organization.

Alastair Haydock obtained a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Product Development from Massey University from 1991 to 1996. Prior to that, they attended Wellington College from 1985 to 1990 but did not obtain a specific degree or field of study from there. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in Mini MBA Brand Management and Mini MBA Marketing from Marketing Week Mini MBA with Mark Ritson in 2021 and 2020 respectively. Alastair also holds a Graphic Design Certificate from Wanganui Polytechnic, as well as certifications in Intermediate Microsoft Access and VBA.
