Marc González Santamarina has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Marc is currently serving as the Co-Founder & CCO of Auctree since February 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Endesa for several years, first as a Técnico/Gestor en Contabilidad from December 2014 to March 2020, and then as a Responsable/Experto en Planificación Económica y Control from March 2020 to April 2022. In 2017, they briefly worked as a Profesor de Contabilidad at Academia CEEM. Before that, they were an Assistant Demand Planner at Henkel from February 2014 to December 2014. Earlier in their career, they served as an Operador de estaciones marítimas at Port de Barcelona from July 2009 to September 2013, and as an Auxiliar administrativo en el departamento de gestión aduanera at LO-TRANS, LOGISTICA Y TRANSPORTE S.A. in July 2007.

Marc González Santamarina's education history is as follows:

From 2016 to 2016, Marc obtained a Postgrado en Dirección Financiera from Universitat Pompeu Fabra. The field of study for this program was Administración y gestión de empresas.

In 2017, Marc earned a Titulación propia en Contabilidad Avanzada from CEF Centro de Estudios Financieros. The degree focused on Contabilidad.

Also in 2017, Marc completed a Curso Project Finance Internacional from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. The field of study for this course was Gestión de proyectos.

Which Problem Are We Solving? 📉 Distressed real estate markets are inefficient and unaccessible to most people. For Creditors: They own non-performing real estate loans which take a very long to recover (~3.5 years on average) and cost more than €16bn per year to manage in Europe alone. For Buyers: They have very limited access to distressed real estate buying opportunities (selling at 15-20% discounts) which are traditionally only available to savvy investors. How Do We Solve It? Auctree provides buyers with access to properties selling at 15-20% discounts via our marketplace which helps sellers recover non-performing real estate loans 80% faster. Creditors (i.e. International investment funds) who buy portfolios of non-performing loans & target IRRs of 8.5% need Auctree because they are forced to repossess the property, which extends recovery times by c.2 years and increases cost by 10-15%. Using Auctree, they can recover their investment before repossession, saving both time & cost, as well as increasing their IRR. Buyers (i.e. Consumers, or Retail Investors) benefit by using Auctree as our platform allows for anybody to engage with these opportunities by i) providing widespread visibility (our platform is open to anybody) and ii) simplifying the purchase process (we remove complexity by providing turn-key solutions to buyers).
