Dr. Leslie Gaston-Bird CAS MPSE serves as the President of the Audio Engineering Society and is the Founder and Director of Immersive and Inclusive Audio, CIC, which focuses on mentoring underrepresented groups in the audio industry. With extensive experience as a Freelance Re-Recording Mixer and Sound Editor at Mix Messiah Productions since 1992, Dr. Gaston-Bird specializes in sound effects and sound design for multichannel projects, holding certifications in Avid Dolby Atmos and Dante Level 3. Previous roles include serving as a Voting Member of The Recording Academy, Governor-at-Large and Vice President of the Western Region for the Audio Engineering Society, and Associate Professor at the University of Colorado Denver. Dr. Gaston-Bird completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Immersive Sound and Representation at the University of Surrey and holds a Master of Science in Recording Arts from the University of Colorado Denver, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications and an Associate of Science in Audio Technology.
