Benedikt Brommer has been working in the field of spinal cord injury since 2008. Benedikt began as a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University, where they conducted research with Dr. Suzanne Pfeffer in the Biochemistry Department and received training on techniques to analyze complex molecular pathways. In 2009, they became a PhD student at Charit\u00e9 Berlin, where they investigated how spinal cord injury influences the susceptibility to infection. From 2014 to 2020, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at Children's Hospital Boston / Harvard Medical School, where they built on their expertise in the field of spinal cord injury and moved to investigating methods of neuroregeneration. Currently, they are a Senior Scientist and Research Scientist at AudioCure Pharma GmbH.
Benedikt Brommer obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Neuroscience from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in 2013. Prior to that, they earned their Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Biochemistry from Leibniz Universität Hannover in 2008.
