David Phillips has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. David is currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer at Audley Travel since January 2022. Prior to that, they worked as the Interim Chief Financial Officer at Audley Travel from February 2021 to December 2021.
From 2018 to 2019, David held the position of Managing Director at Matthew Clark, where they led the turnaround of the business following its collapse and subsequent purchase by C&C Group.
Before that, they served as the Chief Financial Officer/Joint Managing Director at notonthehighstreet.com from 2016 to 2018, where they were part of the leadership team with responsibilities in various areas such as performance management, technology and engineering, data science, performance marketing, CRM, strategic planning, and finance.
From 2007 to 2015, David worked as the Chief Financial Officer at Matthew Clark, a private equity backed consumer goods and distribution business, where they were responsible for various aspects including commercial partnerships, strategic planning, business development, M&A activity, financial management, and managing a finance function.
David also held roles at Constellation Brands as the Divisional VP Finance from 2004 to 2007, Danisco Animal Nutrition as the Divisional FD from 2002 to 2004, Spandex as the Managing Director Asia Pacific from 1999 to 2002, Viva Health and Leisure as the Financial Controller from 1997 to 1999, and Price Waterhouse as a Corporate Recovery Analyst from 1993 to 1997.
David Phillips attended the University of Reading from 1990 to 1993, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree with Honors, achieving a 2:1 grade in the field of Geography. Following that, they pursued studies at ICAEW from 1993 to 1996, obtaining the FCA (Fellow Chartered Accountant) degree. In 2009, David attended IESE Business School for a year to complete the Advanced Management Programme in 2010.
