Nancy Thompson, PhD, has extensive experience in academia and mentoring. Currently serving as a mentor for graduate students at National Research Mentoring Network since December 2015, Nancy also dedicates time as a seasonal volunteer at Venice Regional Hospital's emergency room and as an Exhibit Hall Guide/Naturalist with the Audubon Society of Rhode Island. As Professor Emerita (Research) at Brown University, Nancy has held several significant roles, including inaugural Associate Dean for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. Previous experience includes a tenure as Research Oncologist at Rhode Island Hospital and a Biotechnology Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Institutes of Health. Educational credentials include a PhD in Biological Sciences from Brown University, an MSc in Microbiology from Rutgers University, and a B.S. in Biological Sciences from Cornell University.
