James Dudt

James Dudt is an advisor to Augumenta, bringing years of experience in the design of building systems.

Dudt is a senior manager of business development at Gilbane Building Company. Prior to this, he was a partner at Karpinski Engineering, an award-winning, multidisciplinary engineering firm.

Dudt, a professional engineer and LEED AP BD+C, led the Karpinski Engineering’s Pittsburgh office, which he opened in 2015. A mechanical engineer by training, Dudt’s experience encompasses high-performing buildings, sustainable projects, and fast-track delivery methods. He has contributed to landmark projects across the region, as well as higher education and healthcare projects.

Dudt is a past-president of the ASHRAE Pittsburgh Chapter and a former member of the AIA-MBA Joint Committee where he contributed to the Design-Assist Best Practice Guide.

His involvement and interest with complex architectural projects began in Dubai with Burt Hill, now part of Stantec, where he was involved in several projects that studied the effects of generative design on building energy performance.

Dudt graduated from Grove City College, receiving a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
