Howard Hartenbaum is a seasoned venture capitalist with extensive experience in the technology sector. Currently serving as a General Partner at August Capital since May 2008, Hartenbaum focuses on investing in early-stage consumer and software application companies. Previously, as a General Partner at Draper Richards, LP, from October 2001 to April 2008, Hartenbaum invested in around 20 technology startups and was a founding investor and board member for Skype. Hartenbaum's background also includes leadership as CEO of Public Mind, Inc. and a role as Director of Business Development at HRL Laboratories, where emphasis was placed on technology licensing and market research in Japan. Early career positions involved ergonomics engineering at Honda and mechanical engineering at Teledyne Relays. Hartenbaum holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
