Brandon T. McCray

Brandon T. McCray is the current Vice President of Development at Augusta University. Prior to this, they were the Associate Vice President for Development at Florida State University from August 2014 to August 2022. In this role, they were responsible for managing and coordinating the daily working activities for the constituent development professionals within the colleges/units and central development staff, which included gift planning, annual giving, corporate and foundations, and regional development teams. Brandon also served as a member of the executive management team and provided oversight of university-wide initiatives, such as the student success and first-generation programs.

Previously, McCray served as the Assistant Vice President of Development and Planned Giving at the University of North Florida from October 2007 to September 2014. In this role, they were responsible for all aspects of the Annual Fund, including donor relations, stewardship, and communications. Additionally, they managed a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors and worked with the Vice President for Advancement on planned giving strategies.

Before their time at UNF, McCray served as Director of Development at UF Health Jacksonville from April 2002 to October 2007. In this role, they were responsible for leading a team of development professionals who raised funds for patient care, research, education, and capital projects. Additionally, they managed a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors and oversaw all aspects of annual giving.

McCray began their career in development as the Assistant Vice President of Development at Meharry Medical College from January 2000 to December 2002. In this role, they were responsible for managing a team of development professionals who raised funds for patient care, research, education, and capital projects. Additionally, they oversaw all aspects of annual giving and planned giving.

Brandon T. McCray earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from Florida State University.
