Samuel Tan has over 10 years of work experience in various industries. In 2017, they became the CEO and Cofounder of Auk Industries, providing end-to-end solutions for data collection, visualization, and analysis for business operations. From 2015 to 2017, they worked as a Consultant at McKinsey & Company, specializing in Operations and leading transformation teams in change management to improve manufacturing/supply-chain/services-ops and achieve turnaround recovery. From 2011 to 2015, they were a Leadership Program Associate at GE, where they were appointed to lead a cross-functional task force to address critical HPC vane sector delivery crisis. In 2010, they worked on a Mechanical System Design Project at Delta Design. From 2008 to 2010, they were an Entrepreneurship & Microrefinery Design at Alpha Biofuels, leading a project creating a new product segment generating large revenue for Alpha Biofuels. In 2008, they were an Ambassador at the Faculty of Engineering at the National University of Singapore. From 2007 to 2008, they were an Officer Commanding (NS) and Combat Engineer at the Singapore Armed Forces, leading and commanding a field engineer company and specializing in Mobility, Counter-mobility, Survivability Operations and Demolition. In 2007, they worked as a Planning & Design (HVAC) at Squire Mech Consulting M&E Engineers, drawing the nerves, veins, and arteries of huge buildings with the stroke of the cursor. In 2006, they were a Building Project Management Trainee at Singapore Combat Engineer & Singapore Polytechnic, where they were the top trainee in building and construction project management course.

Samuel Tan completed a Bachelor of Engineering degree at the National University of Singapore, with a double major in Mechanical Engineering and Business Management. Samuel also participated in a Student Exchange Programme at UC San Diego, studying Mechanical Engineering and Business Management.
