Balcar Singh

Balcar Singh has over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Balcar is currently serving as the Head of Supply Chain & External Manufacturing at Aura Biosciences since March 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Allogene Therapeutics as the Director of External Manufacturing from June 2020 to March 2022.

From December 2017 to June 2020, Balcar held the position of Director of CMC Lifecycle Management at Celgene. In this role, they were responsible for developing and communicating cross-product vector strategies and managing a portfolio of vector plans.

Before joining Celgene, Balcar worked at bluebird bio as an Associate Director of Process Validation from July 2015 to December 2017. Balcar provided strategic leadership in the development and maintenance of the process validation program and facilitated product/process risk assessment.

Prior to bluebird bio, Balcar held various roles at Dendreon, including Associate Director of Process Engineering and Sr. Manager of Process Engineering and Corporate Validation. During their time at Dendreon, they prioritized process improvements, provided process expertise, and defined validation strategies.

Balcar started their career at sanofi-aventis as a QC Analyst II and later served as a Validation Technician and Technical Services Coordinator. Balcar also gained experience at GlaxoSmithKline, Xcyte Therapies, Bayer HealthCare, and Amgen, where they worked in validation and engineering roles.

Overall, Balcar Singh has a wealth of experience in supply chain management, external manufacturing, CMC lifecycle management, process validation, and process engineering within the pharmaceutical industry.

Balcar Singh completed their BSc degree in Applied Biology from the University of Hertfordshire between 1992 and 1996.
