Mark Plavsic

Mark Plavsic currently serves as Chief Technology Officer at Aura Biosciences, beginning in October 2023. Prior to this role, Mark was President and Biopharma Expert Consultant at VirionConsulting, specializing in compliance from March to October 2023. Mark has extensive experience in gene therapy and immuno-oncology, having previously held the position of Chief Technical Officer at Fate Therapeutics Inc from June 2021 to March 2023 and at LYSOGENE from October 2016 to May 2021. Additional roles include leadership in process development at Torque Therapeutics, senior director positions at Genzyme, and head of preclinical safety evaluation at AstraZeneca R&D. Mark holds advanced degrees in veterinary medicine, virology, and immunology from Belgrade University and has earned certifications in regulatory affairs.
