Sharon A. Malia

Sharon A. Malia, Ph.D., has an extensive work experience spanning various roles in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Sharon A.'smost recent position is as the Vice President of Quality Assurance and Quality Control at Aura Biosciences. Prior to that, they worked as a Principal Quality Consultant at Viotech Consulting. Sharon A. also held the position of Senior Director of Quality Control and Stability at Allena Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from 2018 to 2019.

From 2014 to 2018, Dr. Malia worked at LFB USA, where they served as the Senior Director of Quality Control and later as the Director of Quality Control. Before that, they held the role of Director of Quality Control & Analytical Technology at Olympus Biotech from 2013 to 2014.

Prior to their positions at LFB USA and Olympus Biotech, Dr. Malia worked at Toxikon Corporation as the Department Head of In Vitro Toxicology from 2007 to 2013. Sharon A. also served as a Senior Technical Consultant at Omega PharmServices, Inc. from 2004 to 2007.

Dr. Malia began their career as a Senior Research Scientist at Advanced Viral Research Corp. in 2000. Overall, they have a strong background and expertise in quality assurance, quality control, and pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Sharon A. Malia, Ph.D., began their education journey by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biological Chemistry from the University of Connecticut. This period lasted from 1990 until 1996. Following this, Sharon pursued a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 1996 to 2000, specializing in Chemistry and Toxicology.
